Silent film had some truly sumptuous costumes. Should I choose the glorious medieval costumes of Robin Hood? The beautiful French Revolution frocks of Orphans of the Storm? In the end, I decided to choose the costume design that could have only happened in the silent era: The insanely ornate fashion confections of Why Change your Wife?
